Friday, Again

I know I haven't written much this week. Sorry. It was one of those weeks where work was boring and not much happened after 5:00pm, either. I mean, obviously stuff did happen, but none of it was very blog-worthy. I didn't even see any centipedes! NONE! Where did they go?! The other day, I thought I saw one scamper into the closet where the water heater is located, but I poked around (obviously armed with my mini-vacuum) and couldn't find it. It is probably eating spiders galore and building up its defenses in order to stage a grand attack when I least expect it (i.e., now, since my guard is down from this total lack of centipede-spottings).

So here I am, Friday again, with nothing but the weekend stretching out ahead of me. Alex is flying in for the weekend (hooray!!) and we don't have many set plans, but there are a surprising amount of options for the rest of our free time. And I thoroughly like the ability to pick-and-choose.

Set Plans:
-Have much-needed happy hour drinks with the girls before picking Alex up at the airport tonight. Come home, try new healthy pizza recipe I found the other day. Wonder if putting "healthy" and "pizza" together is an oxymoron. If it turns out poorly, substitute wine for food instead. Liquid meals are a girl's best friend.
-Watch OSU/Purdue game tomorrow night at a friend's housewarming/football-watching party. Force/trick Alex into wearing something red, because he tends to root against the Bucks just to be spiteful. Bring wine. Wonder if I can somehow slip in another /slash/ in this bullet point.
-Dinner with Mom and Dad on Sunday night to celebrate mon père's birthday. Bake cake beforehand. Try not to eat too much batter. Consume more wine.

Potential Plans:
-Gallery Hop in the Short North on Saturday. Looooove being able to walk a block to get there!
-Harvest festival at the North Market, begins at noon on Saturday.
-Italian festival a few blocks away in Italian Village, going on all weekend.
-"Taste of Grandview" in Grandview (duh) from 2-7pm on Sunday.
-Pumpkin picking. Hopefully followed by pumpkin pie making. Maybe Dad would like birthday pie instead of a birthday cake...

Phew! So many things to choose from! The weather is expected to be gloriously nice, though hot. GRRR! Why can't we have fall-like temperatures? Instead, it's 90 degrees outside and we had to turn the air conditioner on again last night. It was like admitting defeat, but it was blazing hot in our apartment, so we were left with no choice. Instead, enjoy more pictures in honor of the weekend:
