Happy, Happy Weekend

I know it's not really the weekend yet, but for me, it sort of is. I'm taking the day off tomorrow to attend a funeral, which will be very sad but at the same time, a celebration of her long, happy life. Then on Friday morning, Janie and I are driving down to DC to visit some of the most wonderful, awesome, amazing ladies on the face of this planet. I am SO excited! Not for the funeral...for the reunion. Obvi.

I have honestly been counting down the days until DC for...oh, I dunno...SIX MONTHS or however long ago it was that we all planned this little get-together. I have no idea what we will do (museums? shopping? long walks around the Mall?) but I KNOW there will be copious amounts of rum and wine involved. There will also be goal-setting. See, in college, the eight of us would regularly go to dinner at the local pub, Olive Garden, or Fazoli's (our options were sadly quite limited and often involved mediocre Italian food with gloriously free breadsticks) and we would come up with silly goals for each person. Most of the time, these goals involved boys or doing things with boys or alcohol (or in one case, the ability for Kiki to actually wear sweatpants to class because GEEZ IT IS NOT THAT HARD I DID IT ALMOST EVERY DAY YOU FREAKISH SOUTHERN BELLE. I say that with love, you know, and also disappointment because I am perfectly aware that you never fulfilled that goal). So expect many good stories next week. And also, some drunk dials in the meantime. I just can't help myself.

(Jenni-Jo, I REALLY wish you could come. My heart is breaking because you can't be there. The Great Eight are not the same without you and your fiery red hair and your fiery spirit. I will be sure to set some goals for you, and maaaaybe they won't involve edible underwear this time. But I make no promises.)

So happy weekend to everyone!
