This morning I rolled into the office parking lot on fumes. Literally. I am below Empty. I'm not sure if my car will start this evening when I try to go home, which means Janie might need to help me push my car to the gas station down the block because I'll be damned if I'm going to trek there by myself and buy one of those gas container thingers for $7. Damn you, Giant Eagle, forcing me to drive dangerously low on fuel until I can find a time to go to the Get Go station and cash in my $1.00-off per gallon discount.
But my initial morning crankiness was remedied as soon as I walked into the kitchen to find a spoon for my yogurt. Because what morsels of happiness were sitting on the table, free for the taking? PUMPKIN DOUGHNUTS! It is my first pumpkin-flavored food of the fall! And oh, was my doughnut ever so melt-in-your-mouth delicious. (I tried not to think about how many frillions of calories it probably had...I somehow convinced myself that it was okay to eat, because it had pumpkin in it and therefore counted as a daily vegetable. I know, I'm so, so wrong.)
Now that the sugar from my beautiful pumpkin doughnut is coursing through my veins and making my heart race, I ought to probably start pushing the car towards the gas station now. At least before I feel the overwhelming need to take a nap under my desk.
