Things That Make Me Die Inside, Vol. 9: Christmas in September

I just passed through the lunchroom and saw something that chilled the blood in my veins. Chilled them with WINTRY CHRISTMAS CHEER, that is! Somebody's daughter is doing a fundraiser at school and this year they are hawking Yankee Candles. I have been known to purchase the occasional candle, though I am by no means one of those people who is obsessed with them. I do like to hit up the candle section in my almost-weekly excursions to Bed, Bath & Beyond, though, and give my nose a little treat. I think I have a pretty keen sense of smell, which probably overcompensates for my steadily-disintegrating eyesight and hearing. So anyway, yes, Yankee Candles. In Christmas scents. Balsam & Cedar, Christmas Cookie, Christmas Eve, Christmas Wreath, Mistletoe, Sparkling Cinnamon, Sparkling Pine, Home for the Holidays, etc. Mmmm these warm my heart, even though I'll maybe only ever purchase one.

Speaking of Christmas though, it's a little early for this shiz-nit (please see previous entry on why I love fall, which has JUST begun). We received the first of what I assume to be hundreds of LL Bean Christmas catalogues TWO WEEKS AGO. That is ridiculous! I love me some Christmas, but geez Louise, let me enjoy fall first! Please! It's my favorite! Once Thanksgiving rolls around, I will be more than happy to wear festive clothes, listen to festive music, put up festive decorations, and be overall very festive and enthusiastic about the impending holidays. But please, the Big Day is in THREE MONTHS. Let's not get too excited here, okay?

PS
I may have convinced myself to purchase two candles...this one for fall and this one for winter. I am such a pushover.

PPS
Why are Vanilla Cupcake and Shortbread Cookie considered fall flavors? I like to enjoy said cupcakes and cookies all year round. Am I a freak??
